Saturday Night Live kicked off its’ 43rd season last night on NBC. Actor Ryan Gosling was the host for the premiere episode after sweeping the Award season for his role in La La Land. Jay-Z was the special guest performer giving the crowd a performance of his song ‘Bam’ with Damian Marley. He was back for a second time later on in the show where he gave a very intimate rendition of his song ‘4:44.’
Jay-Z will also be heading out on the 4:44 Tour kicking off on October 27th in Anaheim, CA. He will be donating proceeds from each show to Global Giving, Greater Houston Community Foundation, Miami Community Foundation and other foundations in support of the recent natural disasters.
Tidal has announced in association with Bacardi, TIDAL X BROOKLYN benefit concert on behalf of those affected by the recent natural disasters. Many all around the world have been devastated by Hurricane Harvey, Hurricane Irma, Hurricane Maria and the recent earthquakes in Mexico. Tons of celebrity will come together for a night of great music for a great cause.
Jay-Z, JLO, Cardi B, Chris Brown, DJ Khaled and more will perform at the concert taking place at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY. There will be additional performances by Remy Ma, Fat Joe, Yo Gotti, A$AP Ferg, Vic Mensa, Joey Badass, A Boogie, Rhapsody, Tee Grizzley and more. The event will be hosted by Angie Martinez with special guests Rosie Perez and Lin Manuel-Miranda. Proceeds from the TIDAL X BROOKLYN benefit concert will go to Global Giving, Greater Houston Community Foundation, Miami Community Foundation and other charitable organizations. Rihanna ended NYFW with her annual Diamond Ball on Thursday night in New York City, helping to raise almost $1 million. The event benefits the Clara Lionel Foundation, a nonprofit organization in honor of her grandparents. The event was hosted by Dave Chapelle with attendees including Jay-Z, Beyonce, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Foxx, Young Thug, Lil Kim, Fabolous and more.
Rihanna attended the event wearing a black Ralph & Russo gown paired with Chopard diamond jewelry. She brought along her mother, Monica Braithwaite, grandfather and brothers. A&E presents a new documentary Biggie: The Life of the Notorious B.I.G. which gives us a different view into the life of the rap legend. The new 2-hour doc aired a few days ago and cn be seen in its’ entirety below.
Directed by Mark Ford, Biggie: The Life of Notorious B.I.G. is the first biography to be authorized by his estate and will be the most personal and revealing documentary about the late Christopher Wallace that anyone has ever seen. It will provide interviews with those closest to him including his widow Faith Evans, his mother Voletta Wallace, his close friend Lil Cease and members of Junior Mafia as well as cultural icons Sean “Diddy” Combs, Shawn “Jay Z” Carter and Nas.
Twenty years after his death, this intimate documentary will also focus on Faith Evans as she embarks on an emotional journey to reconcile her own turbulent memories. In addition, the special will explore the people and places that shaped his life including his youth hustling on the streets of Brooklyn, NY, his rise to fame with his confidante and collaborator Sean “Diddy” Combs, his relationships with Faith Evans and Lil’ Kim, his feud with Tupac Shakur, and his shocking murder on the streets of Los Angeles.

The 6th Annual Budweiser Made In America Festival took over Philadelphia’s Benjamin Franklin Parkway this past weekend. There were tons of performers including Migos, Marshmello, Run The Jewels, 21 Savage, Sampha, A Boogie, Pusha T, Vic Mensa, Cardi B, Wizkid and more. J. Cole was the headlining act for Day 1 bringing his 4 Your Eyez Only World Tour to the festival.
