Jay-Z & LL Cool J Inducted in Rock & Roll Hall of Fame
New York stand up! It’s been a glorious week for NY as two legendary New Yorkers are being celebrated. Jay-Z and LL Cool J were nominated, and now inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The eligibility for an artist to be nominated is a musician must have released a commercial recording at least 25 years prior. Jay-Z’s Reasonable Doubt album was nominated in its’ first year of eligibility.
LL Cool J’s has been a Hip Hop pioneer releasing his first album Radio back in 1985. All twelve albums released have achieved Gold and Platinum status catapulting him to a career in acting. He’s acting on several shows including Any Given Sunday, Krush Groove, In The House and NCIS: Los Angeles. \
Jay-Z and LL Cool J were honored in an induction ceremony which also included inductees Tina Turner, Foo Fighters, Gil Scott Heron, Bill Preston, and Kraftwerk. There were tons of special guests including virtual appearances from Barack Obama, Dave Chappelle, Samuel L. Jackson, Jamie Foxx, Ed Sheeran, Chris Rock, J-Lo, Regina King, LeBron James, John Legend and more. Take a look at some images and clips from the night below.
