Babyface & Teddy Riley VERZUZ Battle Songs Double Streams

The Swizz Beatz and Timbaland VERZUZ battle is doing more than just bring the culture together. The battle has now introduced a slew of songs to a new generation and allowed us to enjoy these classic tunes. It also has people running to their preferred streaming platform to listen again!

The Babyface vs. Teddy Riley song battle held on Monday was so popular, it broke the Instagram social platform. Over 400K people logged on the see the showdown and over 3 million in total logged on. According to Nielsen Music/MRC Data, the 49 songs collectively registered 3 million on-demand audio streams in the U.S. on April 21, the day after the battle. The songs earned a day-over-day surge of 115% which is being called the #verzuz impact.

Tevin Campbell’s hit song ‘Can We Talk’  earned 232,000 on-demand audio streams, up from 110,000 the day prior (up 110%). Black Street’s ‘No Diggity,’ with Dr. Dre had 173,000 more streams while SWV’s ‘Right Here/Human Nature’ was up 128,000.  Babyface played Toni Braxton’s ‘Love Shoulda Brought You Home’ which he stated was an attempt by Michael Jackson asking Halle Berry on a date, gained 74,000 streams, up 493% from 12,000 the prior day.
