Is Kanye West Selling His Publishing Catalog?

Kanye West is going through a lot right now. After expressing his distaste in the recent decisions of adidas and Gap, Yeezy is looking to part ways from the brands. But, until then he has been taking meeting to possible sell his complete publishing catalog. His discography currently generates about $13.25 million a year in publishing royalties, of which he gets $5 million. He’s currently seeking 35 times his gross profit, an estimated $175 million.

The high valuation Kanye’s seeking is not unheard of. Bob Dylan’s publishing reportedly sold to UMG for 28 to 29 times the gross profit. Billy Joel’s exploratory bid for a sale was based around a 35 times valuation totaling $400 million. Sources say the interest in the sale has slowed in the last few months. It could be because a buyer may have been found or that no one was willing to purchase at The catalog at the suggested price.

All of this is being reported but Kanye posted an insta story claiming to not have knowledge of the negotiations. He claims his publishing is being sold without his knowledge. Take a look below.
