Check Out Hot 97’s Summer Jam 2021 Concert Recap

On Sunday, Hot 97 held their annual Summer Jam concert at Met Life Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. They returned after a year on hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The show was also live streamed in the Tidal streaming platform for those who could not attend. In the midst of Hurricane Henri, and after canceling the Festival village, they announced the Stadium stage would proceed as planned. Throughout the rain, Hot 97 managed to put on a great show! From the performances to the special guests, the show went off without a hitch.

Saweetie kicked off the Stadium stage performing several songs including her single ‘Best Friend.’ She took to the stage with her dancers ready to perform for eager fans. Hot 97 DJ Megan Ryte came out with a few friends including Kranium, Capella Gray, Movado and A$AP Ferg. Polo G was next to hit the stage giving fans the live rendition of songs off his Hall of Fame project. Moneybagg Yo performed songs from his A Gangsta’s Pain album bringing out EST Gee and 42 Dugg. Reggae songtress Shenseea brought the island vibes performing her single ‘Blessed’ for a packed crowd.

Newcomer CJ surprised everyone when he brought out fellow Staten Island natives Ghostface Killah, Raekwon and Method Man. He also brought out Dreamdoll to perform ‘Lil Freak’ and latin stars El Alfa and Farukko. There were tons of additional performers, but one of the highlights was Swizz Beatz tribute to DMX. He was joined on stage by The Lox, Busta Rhymes, Fat Joe, Lil Kim, Remy Ma, Ron Isley and more.

DaBaby was still part of the festivities despite his comments about the LGBT community at Rolling Loud a few weeks ago. He kicked off his performance with an audio message apologizing for his comments. But, during his set, he still stated he felt people were being ‘cry babies.’ Meek Mill was up next getting the crowd hype for his ‘Dreams and Nightmares’ intro. There were additional surprises from Migos who brought out a very pregnant Cardi B and French Montana who brought out Bobby Shmurda. A Boogie closed out the show ending with his Highbridge label mates along with Mooski who performed the popular song ‘Trackstar.’ Take a look at some images and video from the epic night below and you can see the full recap on Hot 97. S/O to Hot 97 for putting on a great show despite the weather.
