Video: Watch Brandy vs. Monica VERZUZ Battle
Last night, over 1.1 million people were glued to the Brandy Verzuz Monica R&B song battle that took place on Instagram live and Apple Music. The battle is the second all female Verzuz battle following Erykah Badu and Jill Scott back in May here. Brandy and Monica didn’t disappoint as they each played their classic tracks along with some featured appearances.
Brandy set the battle off with her track ‘What About Us’ while Monica countered with her single ‘Everything to Me.’ The pair took turns playing their debut tracks ‘I Wanna Be Down’ and ‘Don’t Take It Personal’ in the fourth round. Brandy even gave us a poem while Monica confessed to recording her debut track at the tender age of 12. Monica also took the time during Intermission to debut a new song titled ‘Trenches’ featuring Lil Baby.
