Event RECAP: The Shining Light Concert Special w/ Nicki Minaj, Pharrell, Miguel and More

Last night, A+E Networks and iHeartMedia presented the Shining A Light: A Concert for Progress on Race in America at the Shrine Auditorium in LA. Some of music’s biggest stars came out for a great cause, bringing attention to race relations in America. The show also made sure to highlight some of the violent acts which took place in the past year and bring awareness to inequality.

There were various stars in attendance including Jamie Foxx and John Legend, LL Cool J, Morgan Freeman, Jill Scott, Tank, Big Sean, Pink, Sting Ed Sheeran, Miguel and Nicki Minaj who read a poem from the late Maya Angelou.

The proceeds from the concert event will go toward the Fund for Progress on Race in America powered by United Way Worldwide. There will also be several grants given to organizations who support and work toward racial justice and progress. The show will air tomorrow night at 8 pm on A+E Networks (A&E, Lifetime, History, H2, LMN and FYI) followed by a one-hour Conversations on Race in America special.
