Video: Watch Gladys Knight vs. Patti LaBelle VERZUZ Battle
This past Sunday night was epic as we had the chance to enjoy two legendary Artist explore their musical catalogs. Gladys Knight and Patti LaBelle went head-to-head in an amazing VERZUZ battle live via Apple TV and Instagram. Over 500K fans were tuned in to enjoy the festivities as the two ladies joined for a night of celebration.
The two singers started off the VERZUZ battle citing their legendary background in the music industry as Gladys unveiled she started singing at age 4. They recollected on their history working together, helping one another and told a few stories about the past. As they kicked off the battle, Gladys sang her first two songs acapella with the instrumentals as Patti sang the adlibs to her first two songs. The battle continued as the two expressed their love for the others song. It was only a matter of time before Patti kicked her shoes off during her performance of ‘Over The Rainbow.’
But, the highlight of the night came when Gladys and Patti were joined by the also legendary Dionne Warwick for a ‘Superwoman’ medley at the 2-hour min mark.
