Check Your Potential Celebrates 50 Years of Hip Hop @ the Universal Hip Hop Museum

The Microphone Bully team took Check Your Potential on the road celebrating 50 Years of Hip Hop Culture at the Universal Hip Hop Museum. The UHH Museum located in the Bronx, NY celebrates and preserves the history of local and global Hip Hop music and culture to inspire, empower, and promote understanding. The goal is to provide a space where audiences can be educated and entertained by artifacts collected from the Hip Hop culture of the past, present, and future. We had the opportunity to tour the space, indulge in Hip Hop history and speak with the Director of Communications, Renee Foster on the importance of the Hip Hop culture.

The museum hosts tons of classic and legendary Hip Hop artifacts collected from the Hip Hop culture over the years. The tour starts with a led light show, playing some of our favorite Hip Hop songs. As you walk through the space, you see vintage garments, posters, cassette tapes, paintings, grafitti, jewelry and much more. From old recordings in black and white to vintage music videos, the museum has so much to offer! The official UHH Museum building will arrive in 2024! Take a look at our recap and make sure to visit the Universal Hip Hop Museum!
