Def Jam Records Names Noah Preston Executive Vice President
Today the MicrophoneBully family is here to deliver some important news on Def Jam Records A&R Noah Preston along with his equally important new position at the label. The highly regarded Def Jam A&R veteran’s work on Jhene Aiko’s Chilombo earned him a highly-coveted ‘Album Of The Year’ Grammy nomination. Jeff Harleston Interim CEO at Def Jam Recordings has now promoted Noah to Executive Vice President, A&R. Jeff had this to say “Noah has played a pivotal role in successfully bringing home some of Def Jam’s most important core artists over the course of the past ten years”.
In a statement Noah had this to say in a statement:
“I’m grateful to have worked for Def Jam from intern to EVP, and I appreciate Jeff Harleston for continuing to believe in me,” said Preston. “It’s a dream being from LA and getting to work with local legends like Jhene, YG, and Hitboy. Def Jam has always been a label that has supported artists and their creative vision and expression. I’m excited to help continue to grow that legacy even further.”
More About Noah Preston:
For those who may not know, Preston was raised in Los Angeles and has spent his entire career in music at Def Jam. In addition to serving as Senior Vice President, A&R, since 2018. Preston joined the label as an A&R Department intern in 2009 while attending Loyola Marymount University. As a result he was brought on to the staff during his senior year in 2010. Noah was able to sign both Jhene Aiko and Logic and he is currently in the studio working with YG on his sixth studio album, as well as Hit-Boy on his debut album.
