News: Vic Mensa’s ‘Anti-Bait Truck’ Gives Out over 7,000 Sneakers

Vic Mensa took to his hometown in West Englewood, Chicago in an Anti-Bait Truck to show love to his city. His SaveMoneySaveLife Foundation gave away over 7,000 pairs of sneakers, free haircuts and much more. Mensa gave away numerous popular brands including Nike, Reebok, Adidas, Puma and others.

The Anti-Bait truck is in response to a recent sting operation by the Chicago police who set up a Bait Truck to attract sneaker thieves. The truck, full of brand name kicks, would be used to lure people into stealing them before being arrested. Charges have since been dropped due to complaints and concerns, take a look below.

Utmost love and appreciation to Anwar Hadid for being a visionary ! We connected thru my involvement in the Palestinian struggle, & when he saw me post the bait truck he called me with the brilliant idea to give away shoes on the same street where it happened. But he didn’t stop there, pulling in @shaunking and others who took it from a hair brained scheme to a huge movement. All power to Shaun as well for being vigilant in his pursuit of justice and making the anti bait truck huge globally. Last but not least I want to send appreciation to @solowkid_mckenzie for being the person to actually film & expose the bait truck and being on the ground in Englewood at all times, as well as for bringing us into his hood with open arms and peace
