Missy Elliott is set to be inducted into the 2019 Songwriters Hall of Fame after being nominated last year. She makes history as the first female rapper to be inducted. She is described by the Hall of Fame website as ‘one of the most significant female artists in contemporary music history.’
Missy Elliot is a five-time GRAMMY® Award winner, with her U.S. sales in excess of 30 million. Missy has six studio albums which have each been RIAA platinum certified or better, making her the only female rapper to accomplish that achievement.
