Chris Kelly who was part of the duo rap group Kris Kross died was pronounced dead yesterday around 3 pm in his Atlanta home after his mother called 911 asking for medical assistance. He was 34 years old.
When help arrived, paramedics found 34-year-old Kelly lying on the living room couch — unresponsive and with “no life signs.” The medics attempted to revive Kelly, to no avail. Kelly was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead a few hours later.
After the death, cops spoke with Donna Kelly Pratt, the mother of Chris, who told police the night before Kelly’s medical emergency, he had taken a mixture of heroin and cocaine known as “speedballs.”
His mother had taken him home to recover from thew drug use but he said he did not feel well and was nauseous. Chris Kelly did his last radio interview hours before he passed out and the radio hosts said he was in bad shape.
Our condolences go out to the family.
Back in February Kris Kross got together for a special So So Reunion event. Mack Daddy and Daddy Mack performed their classics “Warm It Up”, “Jump” and “Live & Die For Hip Hop” for the anniversary show. Remember these jams! lol
