The world was shocked to hear that Kobe Bryant died yesterday along with his 13 year-old daughter Gianna in a fatal helicopter crash. Kobe was 41 years of age.
Reports say the helicopter crashed early yesterday morning right before 10 am in the hills of Calabasas. Sources report he was on his way to his daughters basketball game along with other passengers who did not make it. After some investigation, audio of the air traffic controllers unveiled the pilot of the luxury chopper had clearance to fly in worse than normal weather conditions. The investigation continues as a preliminary report will be released within the next 10 days.
ESPN will honor Bryant by rebroadcasting the final game of his NBA career tonight at 9 p.m. EST. RIP Kobe and Gianna! We send our condolences to the Bryant family as he is a legend and will truly be missed!
Update: All nine of the victims have been identified in the crash along with Kobe and daughter Gianna. The Orange Coast College baseball coach John Altobelli was on board along with his wife Keri and their daughter Alyssa. Also on the helicopter, Christina Mauser, an elementary assistant girls basketball Coach along with pilot Ara Zobayan, Sarah Chester and her daughter, Payton, 13. The crash caused a wildfire that was contained to the Calabasas crash site. No one else was hurt by the fire.
