EVENT Recap: Hot 97 Summer Jam with Cardi B, Lil Nas X, Tory Lanez & More

Hot 97 held their annual Summer Jam Concert on Sunday, June 2nd at Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. This year there were tons of performances on the Main stage along with acts outside to kick off what turned out to be a beautiful day. The Festival Stage started with the two finalists of the Who’s Next Destination Summer Jam contest, New York natives Na Boogz and Mod Da God. They were followed with performances by Nicole Bus, G4 Boyz, City Girls Yung Miami, Blueface, Melii and Trippie Redd.

As guests packed Metlife Stadium for the main show, Kash Doll was the first performer on the Stadium stage. Melii and Megan Thee Stallion were next to hit the main stage where the women showed positive vibes and unity. Casanova came out to perform songs like ‘Set Trippin,’ also bringing out Flipp Dinero and Afro B. Davido performed his hit single ‘Fall’ followed by Rich the Kid. A Boogie was next to perform songs like ‘Drowning’ and ‘Timeless.’ Meek Mill was next up performing songs off his Championship album, bringing out Fabolous and A$AP Ferg. Migos hit the stage with special guest Saweetie during Quavo’s solo set.

Cardi B was the anticipated performer of the night debuting her new single ‘Press’ for the Tri-state audience. She also brought out Yung Miami to perform their single ‘Twerk.’ But, everyone was totally surprised when Cardi brought legendary Country singer Billy Ray Cyrus and Lil Nas X to the stage to perform the #1 hit single ‘Old Town Road.’ Tory Lanez closed the show giving the crowd a rendition of his track ‘LUV.’

There were also several celebrity sightings including Naomi Campbell, Remy Ma, Wendy Williams, Jojo Simmons, Queen Naija, Don Q and more.
