News: Doja, Nicki, Meg and Beyoncé Take Top 2 Spots on Billboard
All hail the ladies in music as four of them just made history! Doja Cat’s ‘Say So’ remix featuring Nicki Minaj hits No.1 while Meg thee Stallion’s ‘Savage’ remix with Beyoncé lands at No. 2. This marks the first time four black women have occupied the highest positions on the Billboard Charts.
The last time two powerful black women took the top spots was Beyoncé with ‘Single Ladies’ at No. 1 and Rihanna’s ‘Live Your Life’ at No. 2 in 2009. Before that, in 2001 Destiny’s Child occupied No. 1 with ‘Bootylicious’ and Mariah Carey taking No. 2 with ‘Loverboy.’ Meg and Nicki had this to say about the achievement:
I’m happy to be apart of the history that was made today ???
