News: The Weeknd’s ‘My Dear Melancholy’ Debuts No. 1 on Billboard

The Weeknd has earned his third consecutive No. 1 album with his new EP, My Dear Melancholy. The 6-song EP includes one featured appearance from French DJ Gesaffelstein. The EP moved a total of 169,000 equivalent album units in the first week according to Nielsen Music. A total of 68,000 units were traditional album sales and 94,000 units came via streaming. My Dear Melancholy is the follow-up to The Weeknd’s Beauty Behind the Madness LP released in 2015 and his Starboy album released in 2016.

In related news, Rich The Kid’s new album The World Is Yours was also released last week here. The new album moved a total of 59,000 units landing at No. 2 on the Billboard Album Chart.
