News: SummerStage To Celebrate the 35th Anniversary of WILD STYLE

Wild Style was originally released theatrically in 1983 by First Run Features and later
re-released for home video by Rhino Home Video. Regarded as the very first hip hop motion picture, the Wild Style film has been crucial in the development of hip-hop culture.

The film featured seminal figures within the given period, such as FAB FIVE FREDDY, LEE QUINONES, LADY PINK, THE ROCK STEADY CREW, THE COLD CRUSH BROTHERS, QUEEN LISA LEE OF ZULU NATION, and GRANDMASTER FLASH.

SummerStage will be celebrating this quintessential piece of hip-hop history with a special reunion show at East River Park on Thursday, August 9th from 6-10 pm. The event features special guests DJ FUNK FLEX, ALMIGHTY KAY GEE, BUSY BEE, CHARLIE AHEARN, DJ GRAND WIZZARD THEODORE, DJ TONY CRUSH, and more! Come witness a part of Hip Hop history!
