News: Nas Honored with The W.E.B. Du Bois Medal From Harvard

Nas was given The W.E.B. Du Bois Award from Harvard in a medal ceremony for his work in music. The Award has been given since 2000 and is Harvard’s highest honor in the field of African and African American Studies. It is awarded to individuals in the U.S. and across the globe in recognition of their contributions to African American culture and the life of the mind. Recipients have included scholars, artists, writers, journalists, philanthropists, and administrators whose work has bolstered the field of African and African American Studies. Has has this to say:

‘Historic night for the rap game. At the Hutchins Center Honors for the W. E. B. Du Bois Medal ceremony. This is a first for the Rap Game to receive this award but, definitely not the last. Thank you. #HarvardHistory’ -Nas
