News: Drake’s ‘Scorpion’ Album Breaks Spotify & Apple’s Streaming Records

Drake’s new Scorpion album is already breaking records on several music streaming services. The new album is set to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Album Charts with the most streams so far by any artist in 2018. Scorpion is already said to have gone platinum according to the RIAA.

It has already broken the global Spotify record for biggest opening day with 132 million album streams. The album also surpassed 170 million streams on Apple Music’s streaming platform. The project, which is currently available to purchase only as a digital album, is slated to sell 200,000 in traditional album sales. A CD edition of the album is due on July 13.
