News: Drake Tops Billboard & Spotify’s ‘Artist of The Year’

For the third year in a row, Drake is Spotify’s Most Streamed Artist of 2018. As a result of his singles including ‘God’s Plan’ and ‘In My Feelings,’ his Scorpion album became the most streamed LP of 2018 with 8.2 billion streams this year. On the Billboard charts, he leads the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Artists once again for the fourth consecutive year. His previous albums to top the charts were Take Care in 2012, 2015 with If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late and 2016 with Views. Congrats are in order for Drake!

Billboard’s year-end music recaps are based on chart performance during the charts dated Dec. 2, 2017, to Nov. 17, 2018. Data registered before or after a title’s chart run is not considered in these standings. That methodology detail, and the December-to-November time period, account for some of the differences between these lists and the calendar-year recaps that are independently compiled by Nielsen Music.
