Last night the 69th annual Emmy Awards aired live from The Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. Donald Glover was the announced winner for Best Directing for a Comedy Series on behalf of his FX series Atlanta. He made history being the first African American to win an award in the category. He gave thanks to his co-director Hiro Murai, saying ‘He taught me everything about directing. He had the eye for this show and he’s just amazing. I really want to give this to Hiro and just say I love you and thank you for being my best friend.’
The night didn’t end there when Donald also won the Emmy for Best Lead Actor in a Comedy.
‘I want to thank Trump for making Black people number one on the most oppressed list, He’s the reason I’m probably up here.’
He also won two Golden Globe Awards for the show back in January here. You can also see a performance by Chance The rapper below.
