News: Bobby Shmurda and Rowdy Rebel Begin Trial In June

Bobby Shmurda and Rowdy Rebel have been given a trial date, June 25th, for an array of charges including weapons, drug, murder, and conspiracy. They will go to trial along with 13 other members of the GS9 crew. Their lawyers, Kenneth Montgomery and Javier Solano, are requesting that their case be moved to the front of the line as the group will be broken down into smaller groups for trial.

For now, there isn’t much more to do but wait. Shmurda and Rebel will remain in jail until the trial begins or until either can produce the $2 million bail the StCate has hit them with. Yesterday, speaking over the phone with XXL, Montgomery said that there was no chance that bail would be reduced while Judge Burke presided over the case (Burke mentioned in court today that he was likely to handle the trial as well).

‘What I would want is some reasonableness to take place and that this young man can be given a reasonable bail and get out,’ Montgomery told XXL. ”But I know what we’re up against. We’re not up against reason. We’re up against the rule of law.”
