Event RECAP: WBLS April Fool’s Day Comedy Show at MSG

AFDCS-2017-4

WBLS held their annual April Fool’s Day Comedy Show this past Saturday in New York City. We attended the comedy event and have to say, it was a great show! The show has been a staple for Emmis for over a decade and each year it gets even better. Held at Madison Square Garden and hosted by the talented Sommore, the show was definitely the highlight of the week.

The Queen of Comedy, Sommore hosted the show which was packed with laughs from some of the funniest comedians around. She even shocked everyone announcing Jay-Z was in the building, but that of course was an April Fool’s gaga we almost fell for. First up, Don ‘DC’ Curry who kicked off the show with nothing but funny jokes. The legendary Arsenio Hall was up next, getting off to a bit of a rocky start after a heckler in the audience tried to imply Hall wasn’t funny. But, the crowd started chanting ‘Get Her,’ and that’s when the old Arsenio came out, blasting the heckler with joke after joke. He came through in the end proving you better put some respect on his name in the future!

Michael Blackson took the stage next with the most hilarious set. At times I almost couldn’t breath from the amount of funny coming from the African comedian. The always funny Arnez J followed along with the legendary Tommy Davidson who did not disappoint. Overall, the April Fool’s Day Comedy show this year was amazing proving this is one show you do not want to miss. Take a look at some images from the night below and special thanks to WBLS and Marquee Concerts for a great show!
