On Sunday, Hot 97 held their annual Summer Jam Concert at Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. Despite the inclement weather, with pouring rain all day, Hot 97 made the best of the event, canceling their Festival Stage to ensure the safety of artists and concert-goers. They also made sure to post-pone the Stadium Stage concert until 8:30 pm which was a good idea in order to let the rain pass.
The concert began with Maino and Uncle Murda, who brought out 2 Milly and the entire crowd started ‘Milly Rocking.’ Then, G.O.O.D Music hit the stage with Kanye West, 2 Chainz, Big Sean, Pusha T & Travis $cott performing ‘Mercy’ and ‘I.D.F.W.U.’ Kanye then brought out Desiigner to perform his smash single ‘Panda.’
Bryson Tiller was next up giving the crowd performances off his album T R A P S O U L, later bringing out Fabolous for the remix of ‘Sorry Not Sorry.’ Terror Squad’s Fat Joe and Remy Ma performed some of their classics, bringing out ‘Ashanti’ for a rendition of ‘What’s Luv’ and French Montana for the remix of ‘All The Way Up.’ The A$AP Mob’s ASAP Rocky, Ferg and the gang took over the stage performing tracks like ‘Yamborghini High’ and ‘New Level.’ DJ Khaled closed the show bringing out acts including Rick Ross, Busta Rhymes, Movado, M.O.P., Ty Dolla $ign, Kent Jones, and The Lox. Sources say he had more artists up his sleeve but unfortunately, his set was cut short due to Metlife curfew ending the show at 1:30 am.
There were several acts scheduled to perform including Future, Tinashe, Kid Ink and Young Thug. Backstage, Kim Kardashian West, Usher, Justine Skye, Rahsad Jennings, Colin Kaepernick, and more were all spotted behind the scenes. You can take a look at some images from Hot 97 Summer Jam 2016 below.
